I am holding a festival at my school, which involves a music workshop to teach people how to play musical instruments. i would like to include a ukulele workshop but i am unable to find anywhere that hires ukuleles out. as the title says, it is in norfolk so i need someplace that will be able to deliver them to wymondham. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :) (Read answers)

I am going to buy some ernie ball cobalt super slinkys and i figured that i would pick up some uke strings while im at it. i just don 't know which ones to get. i was originally going to buy some aquilas, but amazon.com ran out of stock of the ernie ball guitar strings. so i then went to musiciansfriend.com to get the ernie balls, but they dont have aquilas, just d 'addarios, ghs, martin, and black diamond. i have a cheap soprano uke, so i need some decent stings. any reccomendations? Im an intermediate guitar player, played for around 4-5 years picking up a ukulele and i started singing around 6 months ago and my range is between a low g and 2 octaves up. i want to learn any songs that are good sounding on a ukulele but is also comfortable for me to sing :) (Read answers)

I 'm trying to decide between the kala (makala) mk-s soprano ukulele and the lanikai lu-21 soprano. opinions? other recommendations? thanks!btw, this will be an upgrade from the cheapest mahalo sold. i just want something a bit better, so i 'm more inclined to play! (Read answers)

Hey, i 'm looking into buying a cheap tenor ukulele to learn how to play it. my sister is going to learn with me and she is planning to buy a soprano. now, i 'm a brass player, and my sister plays the cello, so we 're wondering if anyone knows what sort of brands we should look into, we 're going to probably just get used ones, my budget for this doesn 't exceed 60 dollars. also, any other information you think could be relevant to the ukulele would be helpful, too, thanks! Ukulele Strum Help--what Kind Of Strum Is This?
Been playing ukulele for about 3 months now, very little prior experience except for a few months of bass guitar. i have a few strum patterns i like to use, but now that i 'm trying to learn more spanish guitar style ukulele i need to expand my strum patterns and rhythms. the guy in this video has an awesome strum, but i 'm not sure exactly what he 's doing. i can almost replicate it, but something about his timing is just awesome. is he chucking or slapping? or both? almost sounds like he 's picking during the strum as well. totally lost, any help from guitar or ukulele buffs would be amazing. thank you!and yes, i tried messaging him on youtube but i don 't think he checks it much anymore...link: youtube.com/ watch?v= k1rffw_7v0g &feature= related (Read answers)

Makala Dolphin Or Lanikai Lu-21 Ukulele For Beginner?
After hours or searching for a good uke for a beginner, i 've narrowed it down to the makala dolphin and the lanikai lu-21. on amazon, the prices would be about the same, but the dolphin would cost a little more considering the shipping. i 've read from reviews that the dolphin needs different strings, and i 'm not quite sure i like the color compared to the natural wood look, but i 've also heard that the lanikai doesn 't hold tune well. which do you think i would be better starting out with? thanks for your help! :) (Read answers)
Poor Sounding Ukulele?
I recently got a mahalo ukulele (the smallest model) and once tuned it sounds really quite poor. when the strings are open they sound fine and hold their tone, but when the majority of them are pressed down in chords it just sounds off. i have checked it with a chromatic tuner and many of the notes are either just in the correct semitone or in the semitone below. is this a common problem and is there anything i can do to correct this?
